Who Cooks For You?

Friday, August 25, 2006 by Geoff

The title has nothing to do with the post. And this isn't a quality post either. I just wanted to point out that if you look to the right and scroll down a bit you can see the NetFlix movies that I have at home and the next 5 in my queue. I thought it was cool. You can be like me even more.

We watched the "City of God" last night. Excellent movie. I recommend it. If you like seeing 8 year-olds with guns, this movie is for you.

And in other news...

Meliss and I have started a little side business. Sorry, its only for Philly and the surrounding areas, but you can check it out here: Fill-a-Pod. Tell all your friends about it.

SoaP + Wiki = Weeeeee!

Thursday, August 24, 2006 by Geoff

My SoaP fandom just jumped to another level. I created a wiki page to organize ideas and activities to do during a viewing of SoaP. Think Rock Horror Picture Show, but without the singing and cross-dressing. And about a Ssssbillion times better.

Snakes on a Wiki

Add. Edit. Have fun.

Nardtastic!

Wednesday, August 23, 2006 by Geoff

I'm not going to write a review because I will be linking a page with a nice one. But here is my ode to one of my favorite childhood movies.

We, meaning myself and my childhood friend Louie, must have watched this movie any time we were awake. Louie lived across the street from the time I was 4 till I was six or so. Actually, I'm not really sure, I spent a lot of those years drunk. Louie owned this movie on VHS -- I know this because I do not own a copy of it -- we would watch it whenever we were at his house. Then he moved. But we went to visit, I think 3 or 4 times, and every time we watched this movie. Then we lost contact. The last I heard, back in 88', he was touring Vietnam with the Harlem Globe Trotters as their basketball.

Although I haven't seen Louie in about 19-20 years (damn I'm old), I believe we still have a connection. That connection? That movie that I mentioned above. That movie? MONSTER SQUAD!!! Monster Squad, from what I remember because I haven't seen it in a multitude of years, was awesome. From the creepy German guy to...other things in the movie (I told you I was drunk during those years), this movie had it all. But one particular thing sticks out, one scene from Monster Squad is burned into my gray matter of a hard-drive.

Out of Work Child Actor One: Kick him in the nards!

Dead fat kid out of work child actor 2: Wolfman doesn't have nards!

Out of Work Child Actor One: Just kick him!

KICKS WOLFMAN IN THE PRIVATE AREA.

Dead fat kid out of work child actor 2:(amazed)Wolfman has nards.

A video clip of that awesome scene and much more information (than I could ever provide) about Monster Squad can be found here. Enjoy.
