In the news.

I didn't even realize this was going on until today.

Police and fire crews attacked as Paris rioting spreads

The French government faced mounting pressure today as suburban unrest took on dangerous new momentum, with shots fired at police and fire crews as they battled youths who torched car dealerships and public buses and hurled rocks at commuter trains.

This isn't making too much news here in the U.S.

Another article on the riots.

In less serious news. The NHL.

I've been a hockey fan my whole life. I have been playing hockey since the first grade. I know my hockey.

At first I was somewhat excited about the new rules, the shoot-out, no red-line. I realized they were going to more strict with the fighting and penalties, but I didn't think much it. But now, a month or so into the new season and I am tired of the game long powerplays and all the goals. Last night, a team won 10-4. What is that? That isn't NHL hockey. I'd rather see a well balance game of defense, offense and goaltending. Not Jo-Jo's Happy-time-circus-scoring-machine-lunch-hour. No. Say no, to Jo.

New NHL: Too many goals coming way too easy

Current TV

If you're in the Philadelphia area or surrounding parts and have comcast cable, check this out. Current TV is cable station that offers an alternative to the mainstream. Current TV's programming is about 40% viewer submitted. If you live in the Philadelphia area though, as I do, and subscribe to comcast we cannot view this channel. In Philly, Current is only offered on Direct TV because comcast won't carry it.

So, if you want Current_TV, you should contact someone, someone like Brian Roberts the CEO of Comcast. Drop him an email, Brian_Roberts@comcast.com.

Another Halloween has come and gone. By my calculations, this/that was my 23rd consecutive Halloween. My first Halloween was October 31st, 1982; Damn that was a long time ago. I think I was a bunny, or something. I don't remember.

I was trying to think of all my Halloween Costumes throughout the years, for each year. But my blasted memory has failed, I can't pinpoint each Trick or treat uniform to each particular year. I can though, remember almost all the costumes throughout the years. I have been a bum, California raisin, Beetlejuice, Vampire (2 or 3 times), a zombie (on roller blades. I thought I would have an advantage over the other trick or treaters but I forgot about the numerous steps leading up to the front doors of many homes in tacony.) Phantom of the Opera. Those are from my childhood, there are a few missing. Sorry. From more recent times I was a 30's/40's gansta, The Road Dog Jesse James, 50's Greaser, Jacko, Superman, Captain Jack Sparrow, LT. Dangle, and this years costume, Edward Scissor Hands.

If you're like me and can't wait for next year, this web page, Halloween Forum should hold you over until 10/31/06. There are many great members, and ideas on this forum, check it out.

Mr. Pumpkin, it will be ok.
